Gratitude in June

30. What talent or skill do you have that you are grateful for?

I don’t know what talents I have.  Never really believed I had any, to be honest.  But, I can plant a decent garden, and I can make some pretty nice soap, and I am grateful for those things.

Bonus, I make beautiful babies.

Three Sisters

Three elderly sisters, ages 92, 94 and 96, shared a house together. One evening, the 96 year old sister went upstairs to take a bath. As she put her foot into the tub, she paused. Then she yelled down to the other two sisters and asked, “Was I getting in the tub or out?”

“You dern fool,” said the 94 year old. “I’ll come up and see.” When she got half way up the stairs she paused. “Was I going up the stairs or down?”

The 92 year old sister was sitting at the kitchen table drinking a cup of tea and thought, “I hope I never get that forgetful, knock on wood.” She shook her head and called out, “I’ll be up to help you both as soon as I see who’s at the door.”

Daily Prompt

I remember my cousin and I going to catch tadpoles down by the creek when we were about 3.  I loved the water, the sounds it made, I loved the grassy place we ran through to get to the creek, and I adored the horses a neighbor had.  I loved the trees in our yard and the one I helped my father plant in the front yard.  It’s still there!  I saw it on Google Maps!  And I used to believe that raindrops were the tears of God and that He was weeping over the world.  To say that rain was awe-inspiring for me would be an understatement.    I used to stand in the backyard – in the rain – and sing to Him so He wouldn’t be sad anymore, lol.

29. What friend/family member are you grateful for today?

You don’t seriously expect me to pick just one, do you?  I live with three people and I am grateful to my bones for each one of them.
