Let’s see – what have I been up to in the last couple of weeks?

Well, there was this epic full moon around Purim, (March 23-24).

I made pink soap!  It was my first time using a colorant, so I was pretty jazzed.

My daughter expressed her slight obsession with playing Destiny.  She arranged her fries in the shape of Destiny: The Taken King logo.  This is what happens when Destiny players can’t get their fix of actual game play time and have to share a console with their big brother.

More of that epic full moon, near the end of it’s cycle.

Of course, I painted my nails for Easter!

And I made black soap for my son!  My 2nd experiment with colorants and also room temperature soaping.  I am so digging that aspect of it, too.  Not having to time the solutions and oils, boo-yah!

#atozchallenge Blogging from A to Z April Challenge

In the dictionary, under the letter I, is a picture of me, because I am insane.  I signed up for the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge.  Why?  It’s not like I don’t have anything to do, being a homeschool mom with school starting next week, or a wife who still irons her husband’s work clothes, or a homemaker who still cooks dinner every night.

I don’t know, something about it appealed to me.  Perhaps it was the whole A-Z thing.  I love lists, after all.

Besides, you’re here.  Smile

There’s still time to sign up, if you’re interested.  It could be us and more than 1600 1700 of our closest new friends!  C’mon in!

Moonlight Sonata

My son decided he wanted black soap as soon as he saw the colors in the sample package I got.  “Not red or blue?” I asked, his favorite colors since he was something like two.  “No!  I want black soap!  That’ll be cool!”

So, black soap.  It’s not all that unusual, actually, in soaping circles.  I’ve seen it a few times, and when soapers make blends with it, like black and white swirls, it can be gorgeous.  (Future soaping goal, black and white swirl soap*)

My son chose a scent called, Sunlight, Moonlight, and Starlight for his soap.  I thought he might like the Drakkar Noir copy-scent I got, but he didn’t care for that one quite as much.  It really does smell like Drakkar Noir, too!  He thought the Moonlight Starlight thing would go nice with a nighttime colored soap.  I was kind of thinking the same thing with the Noir reference.  Either one would have gone well, I think.

This is how it looked after unmolding.  He’ll be able to start using it in about another month.  He seemed kind of excited, actually.  You know, as excited as 14 year old boys can get about soap, lol.

Tech Tuesday

I was so excited when I saw these pens, I copied the entire ad to a blog post.  The hard part was trying to decide which parts of their campaign post to add to my own post and which to discard.  If you could see my pens, you’d see how I struggle to keep them in some kind of organized chaos.  I love pens.  I even once wrote a silly little homage to pens.  I have tons of them all over the place and they make a bit of a mess, I confess.  So the thought of having pens that can practically pick up after themselves, well now that’s an idea I can totally get behind!

MAGNETIPS – Incredible Magnetic Pens!

Refillable fineliners combined with super strong Neodymium magnets. Colouring is just the beginning!

Magnetips are not your average fine-liners. As well as being refillable, each one of our Patent-Pending pens also contains two super strong Neodymium magnets. This means that they attract one another (or any metal surface), becoming the centre-piece of your desktop. Colouring is only the beginning!

But we didn’t stop there. By adding two super strong Neodymium magnets to each of our pens, we gave the pens a life of their own, making each set into an object in its own right, both useful and playful in countless ways, even beyond colouring, sketching, and writing.

The sets are of equal quality and dimensions, so the pens from both will attract to one another. You can even play around and change caps between the two editions.

Each set of MAGNETIPS comes pre-loaded with a full set of 20 colour refills. Once these are finished, you don’t have to throw your pens away, but simply reload them with a new refill set.

Quality 0.4 Fine Line Fibre Tip

Besides keeping them in neat order on your desk, the strong magnets inside the pens open up endless possibilities for playfulness and creativity.
